For many years Jackie Almond was a colourist of antiquarian prints, which taught her about light, tone and atmosphere. Later an English degree and love of literature was a further inspiration to paint: interiors, empty spaces and to create a mood of stillness and silence. Place is also important and her work includes semi-abstract landscape paintings of her surroundings: both past and present. For many years Jackie divided her time between London and France. She now lives on the Suffolk coast with her husband who is also an artist and she is part of Walberswick Open Studios.

Her paintings have been exhibited in London galleries - twice at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition - and other galleries in the UK.
