An English degree and love of literature inspired Jackie Almond’s work, leading to an interest in painting interiors and empty spaces. Time as a colourist of antiquarian prints taught her about light and tone and her aim is to create an atmosphere which evokes stillness and silence. Her paintings have been exhibited in London galleries - twice at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition - and other galleries in the UK.
For many years Jackie divided her time between London and France. She now lives on the Suffolk coast and she is part of Walberswick Open Studios.
